UNRWA is the United Nations agency responsible for the protection, care and human development of a population of some 4.6 million Palestine refugees living in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian Arab Republic. Knowledge management Coordinator

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate will:

-Performs business and system analysis for the design and implementation of GI Information management system, as well as oversees the IMS related processes and developments;

-Overall supervision of users and group accounts for GI information management system;

-Produced figures report in monthly basis and when required;

-Tracking the records of reports filled on the IMS on a monthly basis;

-Supervise the implementation of IT activities at the partnering CBOs;

-Supervise and provide support to IT trainers;

-Assist in recruitment process for jobs vacancies related to IT field;

-Ensure appropriate use of equipment and software by trainers;

-Prepare action plans and reports on monthly basis;

-Prepare IT placement test for the beneficiaries of IT training;

-Coordinate and organize events on occasion of IWD, IYD...etc;

-Assist in design of and analyzing data components for surveys for GI projects; and

-Any other tasks agreed with supervisors.

-Performs such other duties as may be assigned

 

 

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

-University degree in Computer Science, Communication Engineering or related field;

-A minimum of three years’ work experience in INGOs or UN agencies project implementation with

experience working with women and gender issues an added benefit;

-Experience in coordinating projects among a number of community based structures

-Experience in the area of information management systems applications development programming and

implementation;

-Experience in developing business analysis;

-Good command of spoken and written English.

 

 

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary varies from $ 1261.4 to $ 2459.9 based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 4.18%).

-Contract Duration: six months. Extension is subject to continued need, availability of funds and satisfactory service.

-Leave: 30 days annual leave.

-Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.

-A regular staff member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through

secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC appointment.

EQUIVALENCY

 

Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.

Qualified candidates will be required to undergo tests and a competency based interview.
