Médecins du Monde (MDM) France is an International Medical Organization, which has been present in the Palestinian Territories since 1995. It operates in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank through offices located in Jerusalem, Gaza and Nablus.

MDM is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of :

Psychologist, Gaza Base (1 Position)

Starting Date: 01st of December 2016.
Duration:  05 months
Type of Contract: Full Time Service contract.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

-Assist the MH supervisor in the technical follow-up to MdM partner(s) MHPSS staff in Gaza;
-Assist in the development /or adaptation of specific didactic materials for capacity building activities;
-Assist the MH Supervisor in the implementation and follow up MHPSS activities implemented by MdM France /Partners;
-Collaborate with MdM Mental Health Team in the planning of different MHPSS Activities;
-Collaborate in the assessment of training needs for MdM France staff/partners and assist in organizing and/or in providing trainings accordingly;
-Collaborate in the improvement of a referral system for MHPSS cases;
-Improve current data collection system for MHPSS activities of MdM Partners according with the needs of reporting;
-Assist in preparing different types of MHPSS Reports (as monthly reports, MHPSS periodic reports), according to MdM procedures;
-Assist in mapping of MHPSS programs and Service providers in Gaza and in the reporting of MHPSS needs in the Gaza strip.

REQUIRMENTS:

-Psychologist with clinical experience at least 3 years
-Valuable experience in training and supervising social workers and psychologists (at least 3 years)
-Experience of counseling/psychological support/psychotherapy in emergency situations with people affected by conflicts (at least 2 years)
-Experience related to psychosocial/psychological assessment
-Knowledge and/or experience with mental health in maternal health
-Experience in Community Psycho-education
-Previous work experience with international organizations
-Knowledge of MHPSS international guidelines
-Strong communication and facilitation skills
-Managerial skills
-Excellent writing skills and Computer skills (Excel, Word, Power Point)
-Arabic and English (both written and spoken)
