Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following vacancy at its Gaza Office:
Position: Engineer Positions
Contract Duration: 2 Engineers for 8 months
2 Engineers for 4 months
Location: Gaza , Palestinian Territory
Contract – Full-Time
Closing date: Sunday 14 August 2016
Main Responsibilities:
IMPLEMENTATION
Prepare, review and verify technical assessment, project’s documents.
Conduct field visits to each partner in order to monitor the project’s activities and provide integration of WASH, education and Health activities.
Maintain up-to-date documents and records related to all aspects of duties and responsibilities.
Verify project’s payment requests.
Assist in planning baseline surveys and data-collection.
Assist in on-going collection of data-monitoring.
Assist in planning and/or implementation of project evaluations.
Follow up infrastructure, construction and rehabilitation activities.
Ensure meeting safety and security standards of infrastructure, construction and rehabilitation activities.
Ensure the ability of rehabilitation to cope with children with disabilities’ requirements.
Assist in provision of technical support and assistance to project partners. And assist in preparing project’s tender documents.
Assists Save the Children’s team in any other tasks and duties required, requested, or approved by the Gaza Senior program Manager.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Assist in the internal project evaluation activities, and participate in external evaluations in coordination with the project officer, and Livelihoods and Health (including WASH) Program Manager.
Assist in Development M&E plans for infrastructure and rehabilitation projects in any sector.
Actively participates in the regular meetings with supervisors, partners
Daily follow up the implementation of project activities.
REPORTING
Submit regular and timely report to project Officer, and Livelihoods and Health (including WASH) Program Manager.
COMMUNICATION
Work closely with the partners and communities at the field level.
Communicate effectively with SC staff, and project partners, beneficiaries and communities.
Other
Adhere to SCI’s financial, administrative and child protection policies and procedures.
Carry out other tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Academic: Bachelor degree in civil Engineer.
Working Experience: 3-year experience in construction and rehabilitation activities.
Job related knowledge:
1-Assist in implementing, supervising project activities the technical needs, reviewing the project shop drawings, technical design and the detailed site plan.
2-Follow up the project sites, and ensure the quality of work according the technical specifications.
3-Ensure the safety measurement at the project sites.
4-Work closely with the partners and communities at the field level.
5-Assist in the preparation for any field visits requested for visitors.
6-Review the contractor’s daily report and submit regular-timely reports to the Project Officer.
7-Assist in reviewing the payment request.
8-Communicate effectively with SC staff, and project partners and communities.
9-Actively participate in the regular meetings with supervisors, partners and contractors.
10-Assist the SC team in any other tasks and duties required, requested, and approved by Gaza Implementation Senior Manager.
