Introduction:
The Small Enterprise Center (SEC) Association is a Palestinian nonprofit organization provides an integrated package of innovative business development services consisting of, but not limited to, institutional capability building and strengthening initiatives, human resource training and development, SME banking, grant management, research and development, lending and micro-finance advisory services.
In partnership with OXFAM, the Small Enterprise Center (SEC) Association is implementing the “Economic Recovery in the Gaza Strip – Phase II” project. The project is supervised by OXFAM GB and donated by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). The project focuses on developing the market systems for the dairy, fresh vegetable and ICT sectors in order to contribute to economic recovery and socio-economic empowerment of youth, small scale producers, processors and ICT businesses in the Gaza Strip.
Job Summary
The Small Enterprise Center (SEC) Association is seeking a number of industrial engineers to work with the Palestinian Food Industries Union (PFIU) members. The selected industrial engineers will be placed in the members’ facilities. The engineers will be responsible for assessing the current situation of the processes, in addition to determining the most effective ways to develop products and ways that increase productivity, improve quality, and ensure food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop action plan that specifies actions and changes needed to be addressed.
-Design layout of equipment and workspace.
-Study product and customer requirements and design processes that fulfill these requirements.
-Conduct material requirements planning (MRP).
-Assist facilities to increase productivity.
-Develop and apply methods to ensure product quality.
-Use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to analyze and solve quality and safety problems.
-Study and develop operations charts, material flow, and operations sequence.
-Apply suitable model to control inventory.
-Identify and correct potential hazards, and develop safety & health programs.
-Develop and audit Quality and Food Safety Management Systems i.e. ISO 9001 & ISO 22000.
-Report work progress to the project coordinator.
Qualifications and Experience:
-B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering.
-3 years of related work experience.
-Age of applicant should not exceed 35.
-Strong communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
-Professional technical writing skills.
-Attention to details.
-Strong skills in using MS Office Suite of products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
-Professional in statistics and mathematics to analyze, design, and troubleshoot industrial systems.
