Position title: Operations Manager

 

“GGateway (Gaza Gateway) for Outsourcing Information Technology” is a social enterprise registered as a Private Limited Entity (Pltd.) founded in Gaza in Jan 2016 after 2 years of piloting work in UNRWA. GGateway has a non-profit mission by reinvesting any surplus in accordance with its mission, vision, principles, and values in order to realize its objectives. GGateway offers customized and competitive ICT business outsourcing services to clients worldwide. At the same time, GGateway enables young ICT graduates from universities in Gaza to access professional opportunities in a learning environment, and enhances the ICT sector in Gaza by providing qualified labour and business opportunities. GGateway services such as but not limited to Data Management, Process Improvement, Training Material development, Software Testing and application development. GGateway also operate a vibrant and innovative freelancing platform (GHub), a co-working space equipped with IT infrastructure fostering collaboration and knowledge transfer to create professional ICT communities. GGateway is supported by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

 

General Position Summary:

 

This advertisement seeks qualified applications for an Operations Manager, who will be responsible for the preparation of organizational and program budgets, financial reporting, procurement, logistics and asset management, accounts payable, payroll, Human Resource and archives. This position's primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for the organization's financial functions. The position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. This position requires a broad knowledge of back office operations in business and donor-funded workplaces. Workplace accountability to GGateway vision & mission is an essential task in addition be committed to any task related to the company strategic needs.

Contract Duration: One year contract with possibility of extension

 

Accountability:

 

- Reports directly to: GGateway Director

- Supervisory responsibility: Operations Manager will supervise the admin officer.

- Operations Manager will work directly with the Core management team.

 

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

 

- At least a university degree in finance, business administration, banking or a related discipline

 

- Advanced study of financial management is highly recommended

- Proficient in MS Office applications, including word processing, spread sheet, and data base applications

- Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic

 

Experience

 

- At least 8 years’ experience in financial management, budget development and oversight, procurement, logistics, contracting, compliance and Human Resource

- Strong work experience in assets and inventory management

- Knowledge of tax and other compliance implications of non-profit status

- Experience in the operation of multiple donors, agencies and business needs.

- Very accurate math, spreadsheet and other skills relating to information management and accounting for funds

- Able to produce timely, detailed outputs, exercising sound judgment/analysis, and developing creative solutions

Desirable Qualifications:

 

- Knowledge or experience of business forecasting and analysis

- Knowledge or familiarity with ICT in fields related to the GGateway operations

- Monitoring and evaluation, reporting, database, and experience designing or adapting accountable systems

- Interest in the concepts of social enterprise.
