Damage Reported After Rocket Fired from Gaza Hits Southern Israel

Israeli Army Radio reported on Sunday evening, July 6, 2025, that a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip toward the southern Israeli community of Nir Oz caused property damage but no injuries.
According to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN), Hamas fired a rocket toward the Gaza envelope area, striking Kibbutz Nirim, where reconstruction efforts are underway following the devastation from the October 7, 2023, attack.
Commenting on the incident, Michal Oziahu, head of the Eshkol Regional Council, said:
"We will not accept the continued rocket fire on our region. We expect a thorough investigation into the failure that led to the lack of interception. We also demand a determined effort to change the security reality. There is no doubt in our minds that everything must be done to reach a deal that ends the fighting and brings our loved ones home—immediately."
