Presidency: Israel's Actions Clearly Aim to Undermine Ceasefire Efforts
The official spokesperson for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, warned on Sunday of the grave dangers posed by the Israeli army’s threat to carry out the largest displacement of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip in preparation for a new, devastating military operation.
He called on the U.S. administration to compel the Israeli authorities to halt these threats and work to achieve a ceasefire, stressing that if Washington truly seeks stability in the region, it must act accordingly.
Abu Rudeineh also cautioned against any policies aimed at annexing land in the West Bank under any form or justification, stating that such moves would only lead to further wars and instability across the region.
He added that Israel’s current actions demonstrate a clear intention to derail all efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire and ending the war.
He emphasized that any plans that fail to fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people—based on international law and resolutions, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital along the 1967 borders—are doomed to fail.
Such approaches, he warned, will not bring security, peace, or stability to anyone. Instead, they will create a volatile situation and plunge the entire region into a prolonged period of chaos and instability.
